On 6th November 2025, Kampala’s boxing fraternity gathered at Supremacy Lounge in Nankulabye to witness the long-awaited return of one of Uganda’s fastest-rising young fighters 19-year-old Oteba Henry. After spending three months out of the ring due to an injury he sustained during his previous bout at Obligato, Oteba stepped back into action with confidence, discipline, and renewed hunger for greatness.

Matched against Serajje Ssemambo in an eight-round Super lightweight contest, Oteba delivered a commanding and professional performance from the opening bell to the final round. The judges awarded him a unanimous decision, cementing a crucial victory in his comeback fight and reminding fans why he remains a major force in the division.

The injury layoff followed his tough encounter with Serwada, a boxer who had come down from welterweight a fight that left Oteba temporarily sidelined. But the young fighter used his recovery period to rebuild, refocus, and sharpen his skills. His November performance showed maturity, ring intelligence, and technical improvement far beyond his years.

This latest win pushes Henry’s record to nine victories in ten professional fights, maintaining his standing as Uganda’s No. 2 ranked lightweight. It is an impressive résumé for a teenager who is quickly becoming one of the country’s most promising talents.

Oteba is promoted and managed by Subena Promotions & Events Ltd, an Organisation committed to nurturing world-class boxing talent in Uganda. He trains out of Sparks Boxing Academy, headed by respected trainer Karungi Herbert, and is primarily coached by Coach Solomon, with support from the wider Sparks technical team. Together, they have crafted a young athlete known for his discipline, fast hands, sharp counters, and fearless fighting spirit.

At only 19, Oteba Henry represents the next generation of Ugandan boxing ambitious, hardworking, and determined to rise beyond local borders. His team has confirmed that he is already preparing for another bout this December, with plans to steadily build his international profile.

As he continues to grow under professional guidance, many in the boxing community believe that Oteba is on the path to becoming one of Uganda’s major future champions. His November victory is not just a comeback it is a statement that the young lightweight contender is ready for bigger challenges, brighter lights, and a place among Africa’s elite boxing prospects.
